Excel

excel is a very powerfull tool and is used alot in business and homes. in this tutorial ill be talking about how to make and use formulas in microsoft excel.

fomulas are really easy to make its just when you have many of them it can get complex. when you open up excel it should look like this:

first you must know what the charectors do:

* is the symble for times or multiply

= is equals as normal

+ is the sum or adding

/ is the for dividing

you can even use brakets in formulas too.

to create a formula we select a box or cell, and type "=" once you'v done that you then type in your formula.

here i have typed

=2*2

and pressed enter.

in the first box it now says "4" which is the answar to our equation.

congrats! youv just done a formula!

now for the complex stuff..

here i have typed

=2*A1

the "A1" is the first cell, i could click on it to insert that cell into the formula, if i do this something like this should happen:

as you can see A1 has gone blue this shows we have inserted it in the formula succesfully.

now when i press enter, it shows 8

so what we have just done is got the first cell and times it by 2 and put it in the one below. i want a long list of all the computer no. from 4 to 1024 but to do this id have to type formulas all day.

so, im going to grab the little black square (just right of the selected cell) and drag it down as long as i want.

what wev just done is repeat the same formula and move down one, doubling the cell before it.
